TFHIT BOARD MEMBERS

 

Rene LeBlanc - President:  Rene LeBlanc serves as the current president of the TFHIT Board.  He is the District Director for South Central Public Health. He is also a retired Army Medical Service Officer and medical administrator.  He has extensive experience in the health field and with disadvantaged populations, and will be a great asset to the Board.

 

 

 

 

 

Terry McCurdy - Vice President:  Mr. McCurdy, the 2010 Vice President, was born and educated in Pocatello, Idaho, and worked for 23 years in the banking industry in East Idaho for First Security Bank of Idaho.  He owned a Professional Employment company in Twin Falls until 1998, and is currently the owner/partner of Magic Valley Business Systems, Red Door Realty, and Road Work Ahead Construction Supply. He is Past President of the Twin Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Twin Falls Rotary Club, Snake River Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Chairman of the Twin Falls Community Foundation. Terry is married to Judy McCurdy, and has five children and 13 grandchildren. He is committed to being a responsible steward of the grant funds and to make sure they benefit the community.  The Board will benefit greatly from his point of view.

 

 

 

 

Jay Dodds-Member  Mr. Dodds serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors and is Executive Vice President/Treasurer and CFO at First Federal Savings Bank. He graduated from Twin Falls High School and Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. He received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Utah. He is a member of the Financial Managers Society, a national trade organization, serves on the Board of Directors and is Treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club of Magic Valley, and works with the Boy Scouts of America as District Finance Committee Chairman and Varsity Volunteer. Jay and his wife, Sandy, have six children and two grandchildren and he is pleased and excited to be involved in a very worthwhile opportunity for our community.

 

 

 

 

Priscilla Martens - Secretary:  Ms. Martens is the Executive Director of the National Family Preservation Network that has initiatives in the areas of family preservation, reunification, and father-involvement. Priscilla has a Master's degree in social work and has experience in the child welfare field, public policy, and advocacy on behalf of families. She resides in Buhl.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Patty Kleinkopf - Member:  Ms. Kleinkopf serves as the CFO of Family Health Services in Twin Falls.  She provides a knowledgeable background in both the financial and health care aspects of the decisions that face the TFHIT Board, and a great understanding of the economic landscape of the health care community in this area.  She serves on the Finance Committee, and resides in Twin Falls.

 

Jamie Kelley-Kinyon - Member: Ms. Kelley-Kinyon provides a wealth of knowledge to the Twin Falls Health Initiatives Trust Board.  She is a graduate of the University of Kansas at Lawrence with a Master of Social Work and also a graduate of Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Social Work.  Ms. Kelley-Kinyon served as a Medical Social Worker in a hospital based Home Health/Hospice program for 23 yrs, specializing in end of life care and bereavement counseling. In addition, she has been involved in providing individual, couples, group and family counseling within both public and private counseling agencies, and assessing, developing and implementing treatment plans for substance abuse issues; terminal illness; disabled; and abused/neglected children and elderly. Ms. Kelley-Kinyon developed an inpatient interdisciplinary palliative care program, in conjunction with an outpatient home care and hospice  program, and assisted in the development of hospital grant program for the new hospital system, with project development and grant  writing responsibilities. Ms. Kelley-Kinyon he has been involved with many other activities, such as 18 years on the MVRMC Ethics Committee; representative to a multi-hospital Institutional Review Board for experimental protocols; 6 years on the National Association of Social Work Board  Idaho Chapter; delegate to the 1996 NASW National delegate assembly; several community service advisory boards, including the CORE Lodge, American Cancer Society, and the CARES  program; co-founder and chair of Caring Connections for the Magic Valley, and served several years as a member of the  United  Way Allocations Committee.  She resides in Twin Falls.

 

Jeff Blick - Treasurer: Mr. Blick is a new member, and a part of the Westerra Real Estate Team.  He is a native of Castleford, ID. 

He is currently serving as the TFHIT Treasurer, and works hard to ensure the Trust's funds are held safely and can make the best return on investment for the citizens of Twin Falls County.  His excellent business skills and community contacts carry through to assist the TFHIT Board in its mission on a daily basis.  He works hard for the community in many ways.

 

John Hathaway - Member: John Hathaway is currently the Director of District 5 Health and Welfare.  He brings a lifetime of knowledge of not only the health systems in Idaho, but also of the underserved, underinsured, and disadvantaged populations that the TFHIT Board strives to assist in its granting process.  His collaborative efforts and excellent community service work help the Board in many ways.

 

Rosemary Barta-Fornshell - Member: Ms. Barta-Fornshell is a resident of Twin Falls, and has worked in many fields that directly apply to the mission of the TFHIT Board, and brings an incredibly insight to meetings and decision making for all involved.  She is committed to community service and health care issues, and the TFHIT is proud to have her as a member.

She serves as the Professor and Department Chair, Department of Business & Economics, at College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho.  She has also served as Associate Professor in the Business Dept, and the Human Resources Development Director at CSI.  She was the Director of Human Resource at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center, the Home Health Director and Founder, Social Service Director/Discharge Planner.  She holds an MSS In Human Resources Administration, with an emphasis in Labor Economics and Psychology and a BA in Social Work.
She has previously served as the President and founder, Hospice for South-Central Idaho (now Home Hospice Services), and First President of CORE, and was on the following Boards in the past: Community Action Agency, CSI Career Counseling and Placement Center, and the Salvation Army, Family Health Services and Habitat for Humanity of Twin Falls.
 

Leticia Hernandez - Member:  Ms. Hernandez is a resident of Twin Falls, and was born in Sonora, Texas, but moved to Idaho at the age of three.  She has been married for 36 years, and has 3 children and 12 grandchildren, and loves to spend time with her family.  She is a Licensed Practical Nurse, as a graduate from the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho.  She is also a Qualified Spanish Medical Interpreter and a CARES Victim Service Specialist.  Ms. Hernandez brings a wealth of knowledge on both a professional and personal level to the Board and is committed to contributing her skills to the citizens of Twin Falls County.

Ms. Hernandez goes on missionary trips to an orphanage in Tijuana Mexico or wherever the need may be, and teaches Religious Education to our Youth. She volunteers at the soup kitchen, the Pregnancy Crisis Center as a Counseling Advocate for Women, she is a Child Advocate and educates parents on Prevention and Education. She also promotes Prevention and Education services and trainings on health issues and health awareness to the Hispanic Community.

 

Kim Brackett - Member:  Ms. Brackett is a resident of Castleford, ID, living on a rural ranch.  She is a graduate of both Utah State University and Boise State University, holding a Master of Science in Literacy Education.  She is excited to serve on the TFHIT Board in order to increase awareness of the health and wellness needs in the rural populations of Twin Falls County.  Ms. Brackett's unique rural knowledge and committed community service record makes her invaluable to the Board and its mission.

She has lived in Idaho for 15 years and is currently a mother, literacy tutor, ranch-hand and freelance writer.  She has served in many board and community service roles in her career, including: Trustee, Castleford School Board May 2009–present; Idaho Beef Council July 2004–June 2010, served as: Chair, Vice-Chair, Treas., Budget Committee Chair; ID Beef Quality Assurance Advisory Committee October 2005–present, Currently serving as Chair; National Cattleman’s Beef Association February 2010–present, By-laws, Policies, and Procedures Task Force; Cattleman’s Beef Board January 2008–present, Evaluation Committee; Literacy Tutor, Three Creek School 2003–2007; Chair, Idaho Beef Cook-Off Committee 1997–2003; Idaho Cattle Association 2000–2003, Chair, Promotion & Education Sub-Committee; National Beef Cook-Off Committee 1999–2002.
